Fasting Series: #19 – Day 18

Day 18 – February 2, 2017

Weight: 172.5 lbs.

Fasting Related Issues:  I continue to have acid reflux toward evening. I didn’t have that problem much the last time I did a longer fast. I think I may have discovered the reason why. Energy level is very low upon waking. Apparently MSM can detox the body so quickly that it causes the body to become acidic from the various toxins being dumped into the bloodstream. If you begin a fast in extremely bad health, you may want to avoid the MSM as to not overwhelm the liver and kidney. I’m in pretty decent shape, other than the low grade infection in my throat. So I’ll continue and just supplement with baking soda. I had some sharp pains in my right foot toward evening. It was nothing major, but then I got this weird cold tingling in both feet for a bit after. Apparently my body was getting to more toxins. Oddly enough, the fever in my throat seems to have picked up some too. I’m wondering if the diet tea was slowing down detox and now that I stopped drinking it, the detox is amping up again. After I stopped drinking it, the weight started coming off again and my throat began to get a fever again.

Supplementation for health: Took MSM eye drops and three teaspoons of MSM. I also took a teaspoon of baking soda. I used the zapper. I’ve still been chewing gum. I had a hot herbal tea for a change and to take away the bad taste. Although I changed out our water filter, the taste still is not terrific to my oversensitive palate.

Spiritual: It was another great night at our Biblical counseling class. The second session was about pride being a blocker of God’s grace and all the manifestations of pride. Once again, I believe fasting has caused a greater sensitivity to the Holy Spirit’s conviction.

Pride has been a plague of my life, and the list we were given only shed more light into all the ways it manifests in my life. I can only hope and pray that the Holy Spirit takes the lesson deeply into my heart. I’m sure everyone around me would be thankful.
